The National WWII Museum

Last Sunday, after the service, we visited The National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Reluctant to go in the beginning, I should give this museum a credit and say that I enjoyed it. Although admission fee was a bit pricey. Observing historical events I realized couple things. Especially after watching 4D documentary "Beyond All Boundaries" by Tom Hanks.
Even though America and Soviet Union joined hands against the Axis Powers, they had different life-views. Americans fought for liberty, while USSR was fighting to preserve its own interest and communize the world.
Soviets were fighting against Hitler and Nazi Germany, while America fought also against Japan and Italy. In fact, she liberated first Axis capital, Rome.
I was thinking that USA actively joined the WW2 only since 1944, but Roosevelt declared war on Japan on the next day after the Pearl Harbor, Dec, 8, 1941. Usually Russians downplay the participation of America in the WW2 because it didn't lost so many men. Indeed, Soviet Union lost more then 26 million men (Ukraine itself lost around 10 million people), while America suffered less then half a million casualties. But America appreciated every soul and no man left behind, while Soviets tried to destroy Hitler at any cost. I don't want to hurt feelings of any WW2 veteran, because I am sure that every soldier of the Allies was ready to lay his life for the Victory.
America dropped two nukes on Japan. At first glance she acted evil, but given every Japanese was ready to fight himself to death, it actually saved Japan from extermination.
